Family Involvement
Alpine Academy believes intervention within the family is the key to long-term growth and change.
- Parents are required to participate in weekly family therapy sessions; these sessions occur via the telephone.
- Parents receive e-mail updates from the home treatment team at least weekly to update their daughter's progress.
- Parents are encouraged to have phone contact several times each week with their daughter; calls received from parents or calls home from their daughter will occur twice a week, on average.
- Regular on-site visits by parents are encouraged. (Typically, these visits occur every 6-8 weeks in the first quarter of treatment.) These visits include time for face-to-face family therapy sessions, observation in the milieu, meetings with the family teachers, meetings with the academic staff, other therapeutic activities, and occasional educational seminars.
- Alpine Academy offers additional supportive services to families, both during and after treatment. Some of these services include: parent training workshops, parent-share access, alumni activities, after-care support, after-care coaching, and transition support through the use of a transition specialist. Contact our admissions office to receive more information about additional fees associated with these services.
